Assignment: To document at dusk and night the site for a future structure/Art installation

An evening shoot for a client’s architectural competition project. The site is where Madison Street terminates at the Ohio River in Covington, KY. These images are to be used as background source material for the 3d model renderings of the future sculpture and pavilion.

This first image was created in camera. With my Sony A7SII I used the app “Smooth Reflection” which generates 128 images and compiles them into one- ALL in camera! It is great for night cityscapes like this as well as for removing accidental people that might be walking through or loitering in your perfectly composed image.

This image is from the John Roebling bridge. With the cars movement across the suspension bridge, the “Smooth Reflection” app is rendered nearly useless for getting a sharp image. This generated a similar effect with simply a longer shutter. It worked great, as there were no people I needed to remove. Sadly, the truck and trailer stayed parked right in the middle of the sculpture’s site all evening.

Another couple “Smooth Reflection” shots from on and behind the building site. The rendered 3d Model will be located around the perimeter of the concrete octagon.
